Miss Maya

One of my dear friends let me come over and try out my hand on a few unposed portraits of her family this morning.  Her son and husband were gone so it was just the girls today - Shannon, Miss Maya, and Ellie, the pug.

I learned a lot on this first outing.  Number one - comb the hairs out of a little girl’s face before you start shooting.  Number two - double check to make sure that remnants of whatever she ate that morning aren’t still lingering behind on her face somewhere.  Number three - dogs pose better after they’ve “done their business.”  And the final thing I learned - make SURE you know where the sun is at all times.

Still, for all the things I got wrong…I did manage to get a couple of nice photos.
