I found a new action that is referred to as “Illustrated” because it takes your photos and makes them appear like something you would find in a magazine illustration or, in some cases, a comic book. I used it on this image of a globe thistle and then applied a gaussian blur to the background. I’m really pretty happy with the way it turned out. If you have Photoshop CS3 you can find the action over at www.atncentral.com - just look for the one titled “DS Illustrated.” What fun!

Post Processing in CS3 with Camera Raw. Applied the following actions: Color boost, Ethereal Glow, DS Illustrated. Did some cropping and added a gaussian blur around the flower.

LOVE THIS!
I got my camera this week, haven’t had a chance to try it out yet though. It’s a Nikon D80 with two lenses. The first is Nikon DX – AF-S NIKKOR 18-135mm 1:3.5-5.6G ED, and the second lens is Nikon ED – AF-S NIKKOR 70-300mm 1:4.5-5.6G
So from what I gather, one is regular, and one if for long distances! lol, I would love to get my hands on a macro lens sometime though.

Jackie, what you have is a wide angle zoom and a telephoto zoom. You will be able to get a good close up using either of these lenses – but you’re right….a good macro dedicated lens is something very cool to have in your camera bag!
Pete: Glad I made you happy.
You have a great week, too!
Bonnie: Fun stuff, eh?
