$25,000 Anyone?
March 26, 2008 — HeyJulesI found a post yesterday (sorry I can’t remember where!) that talked about a contest for people to self-publish a Photo book and then enter it in a contest sponsored by Blurb, Canon, and many others. Blurb is a self-publishing company that lets you download software to your computer and then create your very own book. Files are then uploaded and voila! You’ve created your very own book!
The name of the contest is Photography Book Now and you can read all about it HERE. Grand prize is $25,000 and International recognition amongst your peers and the panel of judges. The entrance fee is $35 per book that you enter and you must submit three copies of each for the judges to review. The deadline is July 14th, 2007 so you have lots of time to gather some great shots and create your very own photobook. There are two separate catagories - one called ”General Photo” and one named “Thematic Photo”. Go read all about it and see if you might not want to enter one book for each!
I think it sounds like a cool idea and a way to get me into gear to really kick it up a notch in both my photography skills and my post-processing skills. Anybody else gonna take the bait?
