The Way I See It

Serpentine

Okay, so it’s not exactly a serpent…more like a baby garter snake.  Still, once you close in on one of these little guys you start to become both fascinated and repelled by it simultaneously (at least you do if you’re a girl!)

I’m just glad I saw it sunning itself on the edge of my driveway when I got out of my car yesterday afternoon.  As much as I don’t like snakes, I’d rather see it and know where it is than to be surprised by it and start throwing purse-like objects into the air.

  2. Yes, Ankush, considering how nervous snakes make me I think I did okay on this one!

  4. I love the personality you captures with this picture – this little guy seems a little nervous too! I tend to agree about the purse like objects.

  5. Bernie: I’m glad I didn’t freak out either!

Truddle: Those purse-like objects have a way of doing that, don’t they?

  6. I love photos of faces and eyes in nature, and this particular photo is quite remarkable. You’ve captured the snake beautifully. Who could be afraid of that face?!
